Wealth Verses Health

Have you noticed how different Kroger looks depending on the area or community you are in? I know I have. For example if you are to walk into the Kroger in my neighboorhood , the one by American Way you will notice the major difference compared to shopping at one in Collierville. Soon as you come in to the one by my house you are greeted with junk food and not the freshest produce. The store doesn't have a wide selection of organic food or vegetarian friendly food. It also doesn't look as nice as the one compared the in Collierville. When you step into the one in Collierville your greeted with more healthy choices of food and a nicer store apperence. It also includes a salad bar and a eye friendly bakery. All of this ties into my key point, the more money you have the easier it is for you to be healthly. I agree with this because the people in Collierville are more likly to have more money ,there for they are benefited with better and healthier food options. Also this is true because of the way food is priced and this really bothers me. How is it that you can get a 2 liter soda for 89c but you have to pay $1.49 for 120z of juice. If you have to budget it is harder to buy healthy choices when its cheaper to buy unhealthy ones. It also makes it harder to eat healthier when you aren't provided with healthy choices. All krogers should offer they same type of services no matter where you live. You shouldn't have to drive to the other side of town just to get fresh fruits and other produce. Sometimes I feel like the stores think just because we dont make the same income as other neighboorhoods that they can just give us anything and its supposed to be okay.
